A charming and spacious needle box featuring a sweet white cat playing a medieval string instrument — inspired by a French Book of Hours from 1485–1490.

• Size: 50 × 100 × 20 mm (approx. 2 × 3.9 × 0.8")
• Needle slot: 90 × 40 mm (3.5 × 1.6"), fits needles up to 98 mm long
• Inner depth: 8 mm in the base, 4 mm in the lid — total depth 12 mm (0.47")
• Ideal for storing long needles and decorative pins up to 12 mm tall
• Closes securely with 2 pairs of neodymium magnets (Ø7 × 2 mm)
• Inside: reinforced magnetic disc to hold your needles firmly in place
• Material: birch plywood with a medium-cool walnut stain on the back and inside

The illustration comes from the margins of a late medieval manuscript, where a gentle white cat plays a hurdy-gurdy (also known as an organistrum or nyckelharpa) — a string instrument whose sound is produced by a rotating wheel instead of a bow.
