E Pluribus Unum by Jan Hicks Creates 2023
Counted cross stitch pattern
E pluribus unum - Out of many, One. This phrase can be found on the Great Seal of the United States as well as on most US currency. When I started to design this one, it originally did not include the words. I had the concept of ribbons streaming down, in different shades of reds and pinks representing the stripes. At some point, the words came to me, and the ribbons/border stripes came to represent all of us who make up the United States of America. We are all different - large, small, different colors, different belief systems, different ethnicities. All of us are needed to make this country what it is. Without the beauty in our diversity, we are less.
Alternative fabrics: This design would be lovely stitched on any gold-toned fabric, or any more rustic mottled fabric like Antique Lace or Dusty Road by Seraphim Hand-dyed Fabrics, Legacy by Picture This Plus.
