Emma's Garden by Lavender & Lace
Designer Marilyn Leavitt-Imblum
So sweet and charming, this design is a "must stitch". It shows a precious child in a garden of hollyhocks and lavender, she holds white roses with satin ribbons. Combinations of embroidery stitches using Pearl Cotton and floss create the illusion of real lace across the bottom like a picket fence enclosing her garden. The top of the fabric is dyed so that she has sunshine on top and the darker blue is a background for the lace. We used a very wide ornate frame in a square shape so that it looks like a museum quality piece. This design is dedicated to my new granddaughter Emma Marie Post who makes the breeze sound like joyous tinkling bells.
