• Dimensions: 110×110×31 mm (approx. 4.3×4.3×1.2")
• Lid depth: 8 mm (0.3")
• Base depth: 16 mm (0.63")
• Total internal depth: 24 mm (0.95")
The printed lid can be flipped and used as a small tray for scraps or tools while you stitch – perfect for keeping your space tidy.
Inside, there’s room for all your essential embroidery tools: scissors, seam ripper, needle threader, needles, magnets – everything you need at hand for a smooth and joyful stitching experience.
The box is securely held together by four pairs of reinforced neodymium magnets. The closure is firm and reliable – it won’t open accidentally, even in transit.
The print is sealed and hand-sanded to a satin finish — it won’t fade or rub off over time.
🔸 Please note: Avoid getting the box wet — moisture may cause warping. Dropping the box may result in chips or cracks, including damage to the embedded magnets.
What makes this pattern truly special is its revolutionary printing process. For the first time, Morris used a method that layered red and yellow dyes onto a blue-and-white base — a painstaking technique that took him eight years to perfect. In May 1883, he wrote to his daughter:
"Last week I spent a lot of time in Merton, anxiously watching the first edition of Strawberry Thief, which I think we’ve finally got right."
The final result so delighted him that he registered the design with the Patent Office.
Only a handful of these bobbins were made, and once they’re gone — they’re gone.
This design is also available as a matching needle minder, floss organizer, and floss bobbin.
