A refined magnetic box adorned with a vivid miniature from the Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry, a 15th-century illuminated manuscript widely regarded as one of the greatest treasures of medieval art.

The illustration depicts the month of April from the manuscript’s famous Book of Hours. Buds are blooming, the season of renewal begins — a time for courtship and engagements. A noble couple is shown exchanging rings, surrounded by elegantly dressed parents and wedding guests. In the background, maidens with golden hair gather wildflowers to honor the union — their loose hair a sign of unmarried status.

Above, the zodiac signs Aries and Taurus remind us of the cosmic rhythm that guided medieval life.

Some historians believe the couple may represent historical figures, possibly Charles, Duke of Orléans, and Bonne of Berry — or even Duke Jean of Berry himself with Jeanne of Boulogne, his second wife.

Despite its compact size, the box is surprisingly spacious thanks to its depth — ideal for storing small but essential embroidery tools or notions. The hand-sanded surface gives it a silky finish, and the print is sealed for lasting durability.
